I have a blog so that I can keep tabs of the different dishes I make. A blog is a great place to record the recipes I’ve tried, lessons learnt and notes about what to try or change next time.
I live in Christchurch, New Zealand. You know, the place that’s had several really bad earthquakes (4th September 2010, 22nd February 2011, 13th June 2011 and 23rd December 2011) and about 12,000 aftershocks. There’s been some good ones.
I struggle with understanding some of the conversions and ingredients of American websites I visit (thank goodness for Google). It’s almost a relief to try a recipe from a cook/baker in Australia or New Zealand.
I’ve got a horrendous sweet tooth that will not be tamed. So you’ll find my blog is heavily weighted (and around our waist lines) to desserts, cookies and cakes of every variety.
The majority of recipes on my blog are those I’ve found on other websites. Usually I’ve made a change here or there. Mostly because the ingredients we use in NZ is often different to what is available in the States. I’ve had a couple of successes with my own recipes.
While I’m very new to using a dSLR, and my photography is in it’s infancy (but hopefully will improve), the photos are my own and are not to be used without my permission. Feel free to contact me via the blog (or email address firstname.lastname@example.org). I’d love it if you left a comment.
